How it Works

The unique patented Freestanding QEV Shelving System is a revolution in quality, ease, versatility, and speed of assembly. The units are a fixed height of 2100mm, and can house up to 13 shelves which can be easily adjusted to a minimum clearance of just 150mm.

The base of the unit features adjustable feet which compensate for uneven surfaces and maintain level simply and easily. This also forms the bottom shelf which has a maximum 150 mm clearance from the floor for hygene, and fixed to it are the four holders which will support the uprights.

Once the base is leveled, the uprights can be pushed into place. If you are setting the unit up for the first time, these may need to be gentley tapped in until the location lugs meet. The uprights feature 13 height settings which makes it extremely versatile in its uses, and can be changed to suit your needs in seconds by simply lifting and tilting the shelf, and putting it in its new place. For example, you could have the following arrangements:

The QEV Shelving System is available in both 300mm depth shelves, and 600mm depth shelves. The top of the unit (which is also a shelf), is similar to the base in having four holders which the uprights slot in to. Once this is in place, it's as easy as droping each shelf in. No tools are required as the shelves simply drop into the supports built into the uprights at 150 mm intervals.

For your own safety, we advise that the 300mm shelf depth system uses the available wall fix brackets to ensure no-one using the shelves accidentaly pulls them over onto themselves. For the 600mm shelf depth system, we supply three 'one piece' cross-braces to aid stability and ensure your safety. These fit into the pre drilled holes and are easily attached using wingnuts.

Loadings

The freestanding system has been tested to take a UDL (uniform distributed load) of up to 100KG per shelf. It should be noted that this is an extremely heavy weight, and you will probably use much less. Should you wish to push it to this limit, always ensure that the weight is spread evenly across the width of the shelf, and don't stack all the weight towards the front or back edges of the shelves.

Larger systems

If you require masses of storage, such as a warehouse application, the QEV Shelving System really come into force. The 300mm depth and 600mm depth systems can be ordered with pre-fabricated uprights that are already fixed together. This allows them to fit back to back meaning that you can reach right to the back of the unit - something that is very tricky to acheive with deeper alternatives. With the shelves strapped together in this way, there is no need for wall montings or crossbraces, as the system will support itself.

And if you require a longer run, tell us your plan, and we can supply you with pre-fabricated uprights that combine four uprights in one piece - how easy is that? We recommend that the 300mm depth and 600mm depth shelves go back to back so regardless of which isle you walk down, products at the back can still be reached.

Wall Mount System

Our wall mounted shelving system is based on the same quick, easy, and versatile principles as our Free-standing systems.

The rails are a standard heigt of 600m and have mountings every 50mm. These are double slotted, which allows two shelves to run together in series without gaps between.

Shelves are a standard 1150mm length and shelves are 300mm in depth. Just like the freestanding unit, the ease of assembley and versatility is second to none. Apart from the screws you use to mount the rails, there are no fixings, as the system self locks into place. This makes it really easy to change shelf heights in seconds, and also to remove the shelves for washing.
